Etching & linocut.

All of the etchings are created on zinc plates, using the favoured techniques of hard ground, soft ground and aquatints. The prints are hand printed with professional inks on archive paper.

Drawings.

Drawing daily from the subconscious, intricate line drawings are made which are the foundation for the prints.

Films.

Two films were created in collaboration with other artists for the two projects ‘Glass Town’ and ‘Ocean Swell’.

Ocean Swell - 2014-2019

‘Ocean Swell’ began from a small set of drawings where two figures appeared standing on a beach. Each morning the drawings led the scenes and slowly a story unfolded. After a year or so passed a lithographic book was published after a crowd funding campaign and nearly thirty prints were made based on the drawings.

In the book there are two leading protagonists ‘The Boy’ and ‘The Girl’ who each have a soul keeper. To escape reality ‘The Boy’ and ‘The Girl’ immerse themselves into the ocean. Their soul keepers watch over them from their boats knowing the dreams they carry. Under the ocean ‘The Boy’ and ‘The Girl’ meet and reflect on whether they can be part of reality.

The prints individually found their way into many individual exhibitions including the Royal Academy Summer exhibition and a solo exhibition at Sotheran’s in Mayfair.

Glass Town - 2020-2025

‘Glass Town’ revolves around a couple who awaken to a paused world. Reflecting on their lives they play with glass chess pieces, and consider the direction and choices to make. As well as a body of drawings and over thirty prints the project led to collaborations with other artists. In 2020 a short animated film was made with animator, Hannah Brewerton, and sound musician Amit Rai Sharma based on the prints and drawings.

The project also led to two London solo exhibitions and individual prints selected for group exhibitions as well as a printmaking award from For Arts Sake Gallery in Ealing.
